"Lactalis Industrie U.S.A., Inc." was formed in December of 1985 as "Besnier Scerma, USA" by Michael Roussel, at the request of his friend and business associate, Michel Besnier. Michael has since retired to enjoy life in Florida and Michel Besnier passed away in 2000, but the company continues to serve its customers in the same proud manner. In August 1999, in keeping with a change of the parent company’s name to "Groupe Lactalis", the name was changed to "Lactalis Industrie U.S.A. , Inc."

In 2003, the business was re-structured as a direct from factory operation with Lactalis Industrie U.S.A. (a Division of Sorrento Lactalis, Inc.) providing consistently high quality customer service and support as exclusive representatives for BBA, Scerma and Sorrento Lactlis industrial products.

From our European "Lactalis Industrie" factories, we offer the finest quality milk protein and mineral products manufactured under the highest ISO 9002 quality standards. Our Calciane ® Milk Calcium product has the highest percentage of milk calcium available amongst current market offerings. We are also excited to offer our new Nutritional line of products including “Prolacta 90” Whey Protein Isolate, ultra filtrated MPC 80 and soon, Casein Iron. We also offer products from a number of other French and Eastern suppliers to meet a wide range of price and quality requirements in both food and industrial applications. These products are purchased through our “Scerma” trading division in France . This ensures the ongoing quality, unlike other traders, problem loads stay in Europe and do not arrive at your factory.

From our "Roquefort ® Blue Cheese" factories, we offer a new dehydrated blue cheese powder that can be used exclusively to make a Roquefort® Blue Cheese salad dressing or to supplement the flavor of lowered flavor domestic cheeses.

From our U.S. based "Sorrento Lactalis" factories, we offer Sweet Whey Powder, and soon they will be offering a Whey Protein Concentrate 80%.
